I am an experienced Texasattorney who was admitted to the bar in 1976. I have been both a partner and anassociate in large and mid-sized law firms in Houston and in a small firm inVictoria, Texas. I served as a trial court judge. I began serving as anarbitrator in the securities industry more than thirty years ago aftercompleting arbitrator training for the National Association of SecuritiesDealers (NASD), the forerunner to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority(FINRA). I later became an arbitrator for the National Futures Association. Inaddition, I presently serve as an arbitrator for the Texas Comptroller ofPublic Accounts in various property tax related disputes. I also serve as anarbitrator for Judicial Workplace Arbitrations in non-subscriber workers'compensation cases. I serve as an arbitrator in the dispute resolution serviceof the American Health Law Association. For the past several years I haveserved extensively as an arbitrator for Federal Hearings and Appeals services.Each of the various forums in which I serve as an arbitrator require initialand annual or semi-annual continuing training in order to remain on theirrespective panels. I have heard many hundreds of arbitrations over many years.In addition, I am certified as a mediator in Texas and have mediated varioustypes of disputes in the same forums in which I serve as an arbitrator and inprivate mediations. As a practitioner I have represented parties in Jones Actand admiralty cases in federal court and in one dispute arising under a charterparty agreement in the Admiralty Court. I have participated in a number oil& gas disputes in the Texas and federal trial and appellate courts.
